Technical evaluation
As a rule, musicians and/or parents are concerned about the violin etc. because they want a new instrument. It is almost always a problem to estimate genealogy of an instrument, i.e.:
- Place of origin (Italy, France, USA etc.)
- Time of production
- Is it master, manufacture or factory made?
- Is it in an original state or repaired?
- Is it well suitable for immediate use or does it require any adjustment? …
Questions arise to everybody searching for an instrument. Certainly, fiddle musician and collector or classical violin player has specific queries.
Violin makers Birute and Czes in the Kul Violins Studio can estimate some aspects of instrument origin, but they mainly are concerned about essential technical aspects of an instrument evaluation, i.e. its suitability for employment by musician.
